Note for if the Dinner Jacket is Being Worn When the Bride Wears a Formal Wedding Gown:
The dinner jacket is semiformal attire and should never take the place of formal attire for an ultraformal or formal evening wedding. The dinner jacket is NEVER worn before six in the evening no matter where the location. However, it must be mentioned that fashion changes for women and for men. Local interpretation varies. In some communities the dinner jacket is considered more formal than it is in others and should be taken into consideration. If any doubt to its correctness, a leading haberdashery shop should be consulted.
