Anniversaries

Dear Miss SOS:

My in-laws have been married for 39 years and never had a wedding reception because my father-in-law didn’t want one even though his wife did.  Now, he is suffering from cancer and has mentioned how sorry he is for not allowing her to have her perfect wedding.  I am hosting a reception for them on their 39th anniversary and want to send invitations.  I’m not sure of the wording that I should use.  Any ideas? Thanks so much for your help.

Miss SOS is always touched by the labor of love that goes into hosting a special anniversary celebration and trusts your in-laws are equally appreciative.

As Miss SOS was not certain if there was to be a renewal of vows, below are two examples of invitations when the family is hosting the event.
